These students are AP students in Mrs. Davies’ Advanced Placement Literature and Composition Class. Also selected for publication is Anna Bauch, a student in Miss Jessica Olsen’s junior English class.

To receive the award each athlete earned two varsity letters and maintained a 3.33 GPA during their sports’ seasons. Scholar Athlete Pins will be presented at the Awards Ceremony later this month.

Boylan Octaves Cabaret

The Boylan Octaves will hold a cabaret performance in the Boylan auditorium on Saturday, May 11, at 7:00 PM. Each student involved in Octaves, Boylan’s select chamber choir, will perform a musical theatre solo or duet in the concert. The full ensemble will also perform selections from a variety of musical styles, including chamber music, pop, and spirituals. No admission fee will be charged.

Boylan Concert Choir Performance at St. Peter Cathedral

The Boylan Concert Choir will perform their end-of-year concert at the Cathedral of St. Peter on Monday, May 13, at 7:00 PM. The choir will perform selections from their repertoire throughout the year, including music by Wolfgang A. Mozart, Eric Whitacre, and Moses Hogan. The concert also serves as the choir’s “senior night” and will feature a special performance by the singers of the class of 2013. No admission fee will be charged.

Congratulations to senior Jack Tribble who represented Boylan at the State Swimming competition last weekend. Jack finished higher that any previous Boylan representative at the State meet. Jack received medals in two races –finishing eighth in the 100 Backstroke and ninth in the 500 Freestyle.

Now in its 72nd year, the Young Artist Show is a Rockford tradition that showcases the strength and diversity of art programs across the region. Mark your calendars to enjoy this wonderful community tradition!

The evening before the March for Life, a Vigil Mass is celebrated in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the largest Roman Catholic Church in the United States. Attendance at the Mass is so great that only those who arrive several hours early will find pew space from which the Mass can be seen live. Televisions are set up in side chapels and in the lower level of the Basilica to accommodate the vast number of pilgrims.

We are inviting student, parents, pastors, grandparents to nominate a teacher for a special recognition during Catholic Schools Week, January 27-February 2.

1. Students need not be in the building unless they are taking an exam. Those who desire to remain in the building must be in Study Hall when the bell rings.

2. If a student is late, he/she reports to the Dean of Students’ Office for an admit before being admitted to the classroom.

3. Students are not to be in the corridors or bathrooms during exams. They are not to leave the classroom before the bell rings. There should be no talking in classrooms.

4. A failure/refusal to take a semester exam results in a failure for the semester.

5. Students must be in regular school uniform as described in the handbook.
