Bishop Loras T. Lane opened the doors of Boylan Catholic with this directive:

It was a clear and timeless vision for a brand new school. Today, excellence thrives at Boylan Catholic. In 2007 alone, two benchmark recognitions-from the ACT Program and the Acton Institute-point to the fundamental component of a Boylan education:
EXCELLENCE
The ACT Program commended Boylan for its rigorous core curriculum, particularly science courses. Boylan Catholic is the only Rockford secondary school to receive this ACT recognition. The Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty, a nonprofit organization based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, bestowed the school with its second consecutive Top 50 Catholic High Schools in the United States Award. Boylan was recognized for its Catholic identity, academic standards, and civic education.

All MBT Alumni and friends of Boylan Catholic are asked to honor the excellence that was only a vision in 1960 and has since become the fabric and foundation of so many young lives.
All gifts to the 2008 Partners in Excellence Program will fund the renovation of the physics and chemistry labs to accommodate another fulltime instructor and six more chemistry classes, including Advanced Placement Chemistry, our tenth AP course.
