Annual Giving

Boylan Catholic's Annual Giving Program is the primary opportunity for alumni, parents, and friends to give back, make a difference, and change lives.

THE ANNUAL FUND MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

Boylan Catholic's Annual Giving Program is the primary opportunity for alumni, parents, and friends to give back, make a difference, and change lives.

Parents, alumni, faculty, and friends made charitable gifts to Boylan Catholic’s Annual Fund in 2012. Their gifts surpassed the Annual Fund goal of $700,000, amounting to $753,202.

These are the ways the Annual Fund affects the school’s entire program, benefitting every Boylan student in the 2012-2013 school year:

Academic Program:

• Advanced Placement (AP) Biology, Mandarin Chinese II, and Cisco classes were added to the curriculum. There are now 13 AP classes across Boylan’s curriculum.
• Alternative Credit Courses in consumer Education, World History, US History/ Government, and Biology were also added.
• An Early Bird Physical Education class is now offered to freshmen.

Technology:

• The number of smart boards and video projectors increased throughout the building.
• NOOKS were added to Library equipment.
• WiFi is now available in the cafeteria, auditorium, and additional classrooms.
• Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) Pilot Program begun.
  Class set of Tablets purchased for pilot application program.

Building Improvements:

• Exhaust fans were installed on second floor.
• Original air conditioning units in the cafeteria replaced.
• The Chorus Room received a makeover.
• Two public washrooms in the concession hallway were renovated.

The Annual Fund continues to support Boylan’s need-based Student Assistance Program. Approximately a quarter of Boylan’s families demonstrate need for tuition assistance each year.

Gift of Cash
Gifts of cash are most often in the form of a personal check payable to Boylan Catholic. For your convenience, the school accepts all credit cards. Mail to Advancement Office, Boylan Catholic High School, Rockford, IL 61103

Pledge
To pledge your gift out over multiple years, please contact the Advancement

Corporate Matching Gift
Your gift to Boylan Catholic could be doubled, even tripled, through a matching gift program. To determine if your company offers such an employee benefit, please contact your Human Resources Office.

Gift of Stock, Property
Gifts of stock may be transferred to Boylan Catholic, avoiding any capital gains tax. Gifts of property include homes, cars, boats, gold, etc. Please contact Director of Advancement Lynn McConville for assistance in making gifts of stock or property.

Gift Restrictions

Although many donors choose to allow the school to use their gifts where they are most needed, several special programs and projects are funded through restricted gifts each year. These include gifts to endowment, need-based tuition assistance, and facilities.

Acceptance

On occasion, Boylan Catholic is presented with a unique gift opportunity that requires the institution to formally accept a gift before it is actually made to the school. For that reason, Boylan Catholic reserves the right to formally review any gift, regardless of its asset form, before it is receipted.

Bishop Lane Society

VISION

Bishop Loras T. Lane opened the doors of Boylan Catholic with this directive:

"SEEK EXCELLENCE IN ALL THAT YOU DO"

It was a clear and timeless vision for a brand new school. Since September 7, 1960, excellence has been the hallmark of a Boylan education.

The Bishop Lane Society enrolls committed individuals who embrace Bishop Lane's challenge and dedicate themselves to annually supporting Boylan Catholic's Mission:

Boylan Catholic High School is a Christ-centered community dedicated to the education of the whole person and committed to truth, service, and academic excellence.

The Bishop Lane Society has been established as an organization that requires an annual gift of one thousand dollars or more. Although most gifts are unrestricted, donors can restrict their gift to a specific program or area-the Student Assistance Program, for example.
