Alumni Awards:

The Alumni Board of Directors adopted the following Alumni Awards Program on Monday, October 20, 2008.

• Veritas Award
• Honorary Alumnus Award
• Alumni Excellence Award (5 per year)
• Outstanding Teacher Award
• Young Alumnus Award

Nomination Process

• All Alumni and friends can make nominations.
• Award nominations are due by April 1.

Selection Process

• Alumni Recognition Committee will convene to select award winners.
• The Alumni Recognition Committee will make a recommendation to the Board for approval.

Awards

Veritas Award

The Veritas Award is awarded annually to one or more Muldoon, Boylan, or St. Thomas Alumni who model the essence of Catholic secondary education: lives the truth (Veritas) as taught and lived by Jesus Christ. This graduate may be one of great standing in his or her community or one who serves his fellows, family, or community through quiet dedication to Christian ideals. Through a life of service, this person uses his or her gifts to further Christ's teachings and is thereby an inspiration to peers as well as to students of Boylan Catholic High School. This graduate must be at least five years removed from high school. Posthumous nominations will be accepted.

The Veritas Award winner is recognized at graduation. He or she may also be invited to other Boylan events throughout the year to be recognized as the Veritas Award Winner. This includes, but is not limited to the Alumni Awards Night on the Thursday of Homecoming Week.

Veritas Recipients

Honorary Alumnus Award

The Honorary Alumnus Award is awarded annually to one or more friends (non-alumni) of Boylan Catholic High School for his or her years of distinguished service to the school. This person models the essence of Catholic secondary education: lives the truth (Veritas) as taught and lived by Jesus Christ. Through a life of service to Boylan Catholic, this person uses his or her gifts to further Christ’s teachings and is thereby an inspiration to peers as well as to students. Posthumous nominations will be accepted.

The Honorary Alumnus Award winner is recognized at the Alumni Awards Night on Thursday of Homecoming Week.

Alumni Excellence Award

The Alumni Excellence Award is given annually to up to five Alumni who demonstrate excellence in one or more walks of life. This includes, but is not limited to business, law, medicine, media, athletics (high school, college, or professional), arts, education, or service to community or Church.

The Alumni Excellence Award winners are recognized at the Alumni Awards Night on the Thursday of Homecoming Week.

Outstanding Teacher Award

The Outstanding Teacher Award is awarded annually to one or more current or past faculty members from Boylan, Muldoon, or St. Thomas for dedication and impact on their students.

The Outstanding Teacher Award winner is recognized at the Alumni Awards Night on the Thursday of Homecoming Week.

The Young Alumnus Award honors Boylan graduates of the past fifteen years for outstanding achievement academically, professionally, or through service to his or her community or Church.
