Boylan Music Department Christmas Concert

Boylan Catholic High School’s Music Department will present its annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 12, at 6pm in the school’s Main Gym.

The public is invited to attend this student display of talent which will feature the concert and jazz bands, concert choirs, and instrumental and vocal soloists.

Boylan is handicap accessible. The concert is free to the public.

College Financial Aid Night

The Boylan Guidance Department will host its 7th annual college Financial Aid Night (FAN) on Wednesday, December 1st, in the Boylan Lecture Hall at 6:30 pm. This 90 minute program will feature guest speakers from RVC and Beloit College who will address financial aid issues such as the FAFSA, private school financing/loans, scholarship scams, etc. All parents of junior and senior level students are welcome to attend (as well as the students themselves). Refreshments will be served and a $300 scholarship door prize will be raffled off to a senior student’s family.

Teachers Nominated For Golden Apple Award

Golden Apple is a steadily growing community of expert teachers who are working together to ensure that all students have the excellent teachers they deserve. The Golden Apple Foundation advances the teaching profession by recognizing excellent teachers. This is the first year teachers from private schools have been included in the Golden Apple program. The following Boylan teachers have been nominated for Golden Apple recognition:

Girls’ Swimming State Sectional

Congratulations to the girls’ swimming team on their first place finish in the state sectional competition. The team has set school history. This is the first time a Boylan swimming team has won a sectional title.

Alexis Swedlund and Danielle Applegren will be representing Boylan in the state final competition this Friday and Saturday.

Athletes Sign Letters Of Intent

Gabe DeMarco has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at Illinois State University.

Sean Bidzinski has also signed his letter of intent to play golf for Loyola University (Chicago)

Both students have been awarded athletic scholarships.

Band Members Showcase Talents

The following students will be representing Boylan and Illinois at the Univ. of Wis./Milwaukee Honors Band Festival Nov. 12 – Nov. 14th.
