Boylan Catholic High School has received a $500 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program to support the school’s Community Outreach Program. Zargham Bukhari of Elmwood Mobil, Rockford, worked with Boylan’s administration to secure the grant, which is one of 4,000 available to schools across the country served by Exxon or Mobil stations.

The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil retailers with an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.

Boylan Teachers Recognized by University of Chicago
Posted on  at 9:40 am

Two members of Boylan Catholic High School’s faculty have been nominated for the University of Chicago’s Outstanding Teacher Award. Matthew Erpelding, Music, and Mary Jean Voigt, Social Studies, have been cited by former students who are now University of Chicago freshmen. These students were asked to consider teachers who changed the course of their lives, taught them to re-imagine texts, to delve deeper into problem solving, and to think beyond the classroom in their own educational pursuit.

The University of Chicago’s Outstanding Teacher Award has been in existence for nearly thirty years, honoring high school educators who have significantly impacted the University’s incoming freshmen.
