The South Side High School Choir of Selma Alabama will perform at 9 am on Wednesday March 29 in Boylan’s gym. Dorothy Paige-Turner will be mistress of ceremonies.

Mayor Larry Morrissey is one among several Boylan Catholic High School alums returning to their alma mater as Career Day speakers on Wednesday, March 29. Boylan sophomores will have the opportunity to hear the mayor discuss careers in city administration, as well as the education necessary to enter the field, when they attend one of two 30-minute sessions between 10:30 a.m. and noon with the professionals of their choice. Of the 16 speakers scheduled for this annual event, 9 are Boylan graduates, representing the fields of architecture, business, college-level coaching, culinary arts, finance, graphic design, law, and medicine.

Boylan art students were honored recently at the Rockford Art Museum’s Young Artists Show. Stephanie Mrowiec received both the Myrtle Irons Award and the Staff Choice Award, Honorable mention went to Erin Kurilla, and Caroline Kaszycki won the Chase Exhibition Award.

Several Boylan Catholic High School Art students took home honors from the 15th Annual Rock Valley College High School art exhibit. Top awards were Best of Show: Emily La Loggia; 2nd Place: Eddie Revis; 3rd Place: Angela Rink, and Juror’s Mention: Jenna Bender, Amanda Jeppson, and Julia Rudzinski.
