For the second year in a row, Boylan Catholic High School has received a $500 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program to support the school’s Community Outreach Program. Zargham Bukhari of Elmwood Mobil, Rockford, worked with Boylan’s administration to secure the grant, which is one of 4,000 available to schools across the country served by Exxon or Mobil stations.

The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil retailers with an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools. This grant was made possible by funding from the ExxonMobil corporation.

CRAZY FOR YOU, a Gershwin extravaganza, played for 1,622 performances on Broadway and won the Tony Award in 1992 for Best Musical. It starred Harry Groener and Boylan alum Jodi Benson.

CRAZY FOR YOU is the story of Bobby Child whose dream in life is to dance. Despite the serious efforts of his mother and soon-to-be-ex-fiancee, Bobby achieves his dream! Memorable Gershwin tunes include I GOT RHYTHM, EMBRACEABLE YOU, THEY CAN’T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME, and SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME. It is a high energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists,and fabulous dance numbers!

Boylan Catholic High School, three-time recipient of the U.S. Department of Education’s Exemplary School Award, invites all area 8th graders and their parents to Open House on Sunday, December 3rd. There are three sessions to choose from, beginning promptly at 9:30, 10:15, and 11:00 AM. Each session begins with a welcome and includes a student-guided tour of the school and refreshments. Current parents and alumni will join Boylan’s teachers, administrators, and coaches in welcoming eighth graders and their parents. Visitors are asked to use the South (student) entrance. Boylan is handicap accessible.

The Placement Test required for Freshman registration will be given on Saturday, January 6, at 8:00am.
