GSB Deadline Extended to June 8

Two graduates of the class of ‘86 have announced a scholarship for Boylan students.

Acknowledging how fortunate they were to be afforded an education at Boylan, they endeavored to find a way to give something back.  The two ‘86 grads founded the ‘86 GSB Endowment Scholarship with these three simple words:  “giving something back”.

The mission of the ‘86 GSB Scholarship is to identify deserving students who display leadership qualities, both in and out of the classroom, who might not otherwise be able to attend Boylan.

Jake Smolinski Chosen for National All-Star Game

Jake Smolinski has been selected as only the second Illinois player to be chosen to participate in the All-American Baseball Game, presented by PlayStation. The game will be played in Albuquerque, NM.

The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net on June 4 at 8:00 PM.

National Merit Scholarship Corp. Recognizes Boylan Students

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has informed us that Cristina Arnold, Dan Dansdill, Hannah Provenza and Cathryn Vaulman have been recognized as among the 50,000 highest-scoring students of the 1.4 million National Merit Scholarship program entrants.

Their performance on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) qualifies them to continue in the competition for about 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards to be offered in 2008. About 16,000 students will be named National Merit Semifinalists and approximately 34,000 other students will be named Commended Students.
