Brett Harp was named a semifinalist in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program and Eric Andersen, Thomas Arnold, Zachery Belford, Alexis Onderak and Kathleen Telfer were named Commended Students.

Less than one percent of the 1.4 million juniors who took the Preliminary SAT qualifying test during their junior year are honored as semifinalists. Brett will continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships. Finalists will be named in April.

Although Commended Students will not continue in the 2009 competition for scholarships, they placed in the top five percent of the students tested.
