Four student athletes have been named to all-state teams: Justin Janicke, Jeff Marrs,
Rocco Taglia, and Megan Gendron.
Justin Janicke, the 2008 NIC-10 Defensive MVP and all-conference defensive end, was selected as one of 18 players to represent the class 7A as an All-State football player. He is the third athlete to play for Coach Appino to receive such recognition.
Jeff Marrs, all NIC-10 Offensive Lineman in both 2007 and 2008, was selected as an Academic All-State player in class 7A. Approximately 40 players are chosen from each class to receive this award. To qualify, candidates must be chosen first team all-conference in their respective leagues and have an unweighted GPA over 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Rocco Taglia, the 2008 NIC-10 Soccer MVP, was named to the IHSSCA All-State Team and to the Chicago Tribune 2nd Team All-State.
Megan Gendron has been awarded Special Mention to the All-State volleyball team by the Champaign News-Gazette.
