Andrew Chang to Perform at “Young Steinway” Concert Series

Andrew Chang, a freshman at Boylan, will be performing in the Young Steinway Concert Series presented by the Skokie Public Library on March 7. Andrew has been studying piano since age seven. He currently studies with Soo Young Lee at the Music Institute of Chicago. Andrew won first place in the junior division of the 2009 Chandler Starr Miller Scholarship Competition and was chosen to perform with Alan Goldstein at the Coronado Theatre. Mitchell Faulk Named to IHSA All-State Academic Team

Boylan Catholic High School senior, Mitchell Faulk, has been named to the 17th IHSA All-State Academic Team, sponsored by Caterpillar. Nearly 500 nominations were received from IHSA member schools. Mitchell was one of 26 students selected by a committee of high school administrators. Students were selected based on academic achievement, athletic achievement, and outstanding citizenship.

The IHSA All-State Academic Team will be honored at a banquet at The Double Tree Hotel in Bloomington on Monday, April 19.

Mitchell Faulk joins Erin Filak as Boylan students selected to the IHSA All-State Academic Team. Erin is a member of the 2007 team.

Mitchell Faulk and Grace Parsons Named National Merit Finalists

Mitchell Faulk and Grace Parsons have advanced to Finalist standing in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program. Mitchell and Grace are among less than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors who have earned this honor.

Finalists are being considered for one of three types of scholarships: the $2,500 single-payment National Merit Scholarships; or one of about 1,000 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarships; or one of over 4,700 college-sponsored Merit Scholarships.

Congratulations to Grace and Mitchell.

Octaves to Perform at Ice Hogs Game

The Boylan Octaves will be singing at the Rockford Ice Hogs game on Saturday, February 20. Ticket order forms will be available at the Main Office. Tickets are $13 or $16.
