Mrs. Nooner grew up in Shorewood, IL and attended Joliet Catholic Academy for high school. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Loras College. She then went on to earn her Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in K-12 School Counseling from The University of Missouri - Columbia, or "Mizzou."  After graduation, Mrs. Nooner and her husband relocated to the Rockford area.  She began working in the Counseling Department at Boylan in the fall of 2004.  In addition to counseling students with a last name of G-R, Mrs. Nooner is a Link Crew Coordinator and the AP Program Coordinator.  Mrs. Nooner and her husband have three beautiful children: Nathan, Katelyn, and Austin, who currently attend St. Bridget Catholic Elementary School in Loves Park.  When not counseling students, Mrs. Nooner enjoys spending time with her family, walking/hiking, practicing yoga, and reading.  

Three things that you may not know about me...

My favorite vacation was mine and my husband's honeymoon to Tahiti in 2000.  We would love to go back!

My favorite sports team is the Chicago Cubs.

Why did you decide to become a school counselor?
I decided I wanted to become a school counselor when I was a graduate student at the University of Missouri - Columbia.  I've always loved working with children and teenagers in schools, but knew I wasn't being called to teach in the classroom.  I have loved building relationships with students and families over the years.  One of the things I love most about my role is that I get to know students, their siblings and their extended family over the years as their school counselor.  And graduation day is the best day of the year!
