By: Mary Gavan M'66, Former Assistant Principal, School Relations, Boylan Catholic High School

Lynn Cuppini McConville has lived a life inspired by a deep reverence and profound love for the Lord and Boylan Catholic High School, a place where God’s work is carried out each day to educate young people.

She has generously shared her extraordinary vision and inexhaustible dedication with the school community for the past 37 years. In doing so, she has given life to groundbreaking ideas celebrating Boylan’s milestones and strengths as well as to initiatives ensuring its future.

A trailblazer for the school that she has loved since its infancy when she roamed it construction site with her uncle, she waited impatiently for the day she would walk its halls as a student.

In 1981 she was able to realize her dream of coming back to Boylan to teach and to give back to her beloved school community as a theology teacher. Her students were not only educated in the tenets of the faith, but also evangelized by her witness to her love of God. Lynn also served  the school’s Christ-centered mission as a Junior Girls Retreats facilitator for many years.

As Boylan approached its 25th anniversary in 1985, she provided the inspiration for many aspects of the year-long celebration, in particular the Jubilee Review. The stage sparkled with dozens of Boylan Players, telling the story of the school’s history in song and dance. Many of the performers were adults who eagerly returned to their alma mater to be a part of this memorable event. When the festivities were over, she rolled up her sleeves and founded Boylan Alumni Association,  the forerunner of the present Advancement Office.

Lynn’s work as the Director of Advancement has been tireless. She has educated herself and others in the intricacies of this vital work. She has cultivated relationships with grads, parents, friends and employees of the school who could not help but see their own love for Boylan Catholic in hers. She has promoted use of the term Advancement over the more commonly used word “development” to describe the work that is the heart of her life.

Boylan Catholic High School is deeply indebted to Lynn for her selfless service and immensely grateful  to her for her boundless generosity.
