As we embark on a new school year at Boylan Catholic High School, we are thrilled to introduce two new members of our leadership team who will play pivotal roles in our community's growth and success. We welcome Fr. Bobby Blood '11 as our newly named Assistant Principal and Spiritual Director, and Mr. Bryant Salamone ‘03 as our new Dean of Students.
We are thrilled to announce the return of Fr. Bobby Blood to Boylan Catholic High School as our new Assistant Principal and Spiritual Director, effective this June!
Fr. Blood is a proud 2011 alumnus of Boylan and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Rockford in 2019. After graduating from Boylan, he continued his education at St. Gregory the Great College Seminary, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and at St. Paul Seminary at the University of St. Thomas, where he received a Master of Divinity.
He brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our faith community. Fr. Blood served as a parochial vicar for two years at Holy Family Parish in Rockford and spent the last three years as the Spiritual Director and Assistant Principal at St. Edward Catholic High School in Elgin.
Fr. Blood shared his excitement about his new role: "This summer, I received the privilege of being assigned as the new Spiritual Director and Assistant Principal at Boylan Central Catholic High School. As an alumnus of Boylan, I am honored to return and serve the community that played such a significant role in my formation."

Boylan Catholic High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Bryant Salamone as the new Dean of Students, effective July. Bryant, a distinguished alumnus of Boylan Catholic High School, Class of 2003, will be the sixth Dean of Students in the school’s history. As a third-generation Boylan alumnus, Mr. Salamone brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the school’s mission.
Mr. Bryant Salamone holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies from Bemidji State University and earned his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. He began his career in education in 2008, teaching subjects such as World History, U.S. History, World Geography, and Government/Civics. Additionally, Mr. Salamone has made significant contributions to Boylan as a coach in baseball and football, roles in which he has positively impacted students for over a decade.
Reflecting on his appointment, Mr. Bryant Salamone expressed his gratitude: "I am humbled to serve as the new Dean of Students at Boylan Catholic High School and am eager to uphold the legacy and traditions that make Boylan exceptional. My focus will be on supporting our faculty and staff in nurturing the academic and social development of our students."
Mr. Salamone is married to Maria (DiGirolamo) Salamone, Boylan Class of 2004. They are active members of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Rockford. His family’s deep connection to the school includes his father, Loras Salamone, Boylan Class of 1975, and his grandfather, John Salamone, a St. Thomas alumnus, Class of 1947.
